Education, federal agencies and private corporations regularly provide orientation on Alaska’s unique demographic challenges. These include  a complex variety of Alaska Native populations, as well as  the distinct differences between the rural and urban experience of life in Alaska.  I can speak to these issues for your new employees, incoming soldiers, and new students.

Since a picture tells a thousand words, film is the most accessible way to tell your story today. Individual lives and Alaska's distinct regions come alive through image and sound. This dynamic is especially important for communities that are having trouble reaching younger generations. I use documentary techniques to help preserve tradition, making it possible for grandparents to speak to great-grandchildren they’ll never meet.

Writing    book length publications

However you define books they’re a powerful way of representing community and life history. In a single document of 200 pages or more it is possible to fully capture, and embellish with personal narrative, a moment in time. This fact can often be overlooked in the current environment of the celebration of technology. If you think that a book is better than a website for telling your story, I can help.

Indigenous Language & Culture Preservation

Alaska is a leader in language preservation and culturally-sensitive education.  I can help village communities identify preservation goals and design or adapt educational models for programs and materials that promote language and cultural practices.
